1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Venus Apps (“we”, “us”, “our”)
handles information in connection with the mobile and desktop application
Maths Garden (package name com.venusapps.mathsgarden)
and this policy page.
Maths Garden is a Class 1 mathematics practice game for young children. It is intended to be downloaded and supervised by a parent or guardian. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.
Questions about this policy may be sent to info@venusapps.com.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- The Maths Garden application on Android, iOS, and desktop, where offered
- This privacy policy page and our Terms of Service
It does not apply to the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store, or other third-party websites and services, which have their own privacy policies.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not ask children or parents to create an account. The app has no sign-in, no typing of personal details, no advertisements, and no in-app purchases. We do not collect, and the app does not request:
- Name, photograph, email address, phone number, school, or age
- Precise location, contacts, calendar, camera, or microphone audio of the child
- Passwords, payment card details, or government identifiers
- Advertising identifiers, or information for advertising profiles or sale to data brokers
A child cannot type free text into Maths Garden. Game answers are taps and drags only.
4. Information stored on the device
Maths Garden saves play progress in the app’s private storage on the device. We do not operate a server that receives this progress. Stored items may include:
- Stars earned on each mission, total stars, and the last mission opened
- A short on-device history of Number Trail play sessions
- The chosen language, whether sound is muted, and whether a slower voice is on
- Whether a short first-play tip has already been shown for a mission
- A note of an unfinished session so play can continue after the app is closed
This information stays on the device. It is deleted when you uninstall Maths Garden or clear the app’s storage in the device settings. We cannot restore it, because we do not hold a copy.
5. Spoken prompts
The app speaks short, fixed game instructions, such as “Tap the bigger one.” Where the device already has a suitable voice, speech is produced on the device and the words are not sent to us.
For languages that need an online voice, and on Windows, the app requests spoken audio from Microsoft Edge text-to-speech. If that request fails, the app may request audio from Google Translate text-to-speech. Each request contains the prompt sentence and the language or voice required to speak it. It does not contain a child’s name, an account, or anything the child has typed, because the app does not collect those things.
Microsoft and Google process those requests under their own terms and privacy policies. Their servers may be located outside your country. As with any internet connection, they may see technical connection data such as an IP address. We do not receive that technical data back. Downloaded audio may be cached on the device so the same line does not need to be fetched again.
6. Fonts and app-store version checks
When the device is online, the app may also:
- Download typefaces from Google Fonts so on-screen text, including Hindi and other scripts, displays correctly.
- On phones and tablets, ask the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store whether a newer version of Maths Garden is available, and show an update prompt if one is. That check uses the store’s ordinary connection for this app.
An internet connection is used for speech, fonts, and the version check. Saving stars and settings does not require an account or our server.
7. Permissions
The Android app requests the internet permission so it can load speech, fonts, and store-version information. It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or storage permissions for your personal files.
8. Children
Maths Garden is directed to young children and is meant to be used with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not use children’s information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
The only information that leaves the device in ordinary use is the fixed prompt text and related technical connection data described in sections 5 and 6, which are processed by the speech, font, and store providers named there. Parents and guardians may turn off internet access for the app in the device settings. Where the device has a matching voice, prompts can still be spoken on the device.
If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, email info@venusapps.com. We will delete it.
9. How we use information
Information handled by the app is used only to:
- Run the games, remember stars and settings, and speak the prompts
- Display text in the selected language
- Tell you when a newer store version is available
- Reply if you contact us
We do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and we do not combine it with data from other apps.
10. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We do not share on-device play progress with other companies. We share information only in these cases:
- With Microsoft and Google, as described in sections 5 and 6, to speak prompts and load fonts
- With Apple or Google, when the app checks the store for an update
- If we are required to do so by law, or to respond to a lawful request from a public authority
11. Retention
Play progress remains on the device until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. Cached speech files remain on the device until the system or the app removes temporary files, or until you uninstall. If you email us, we keep that correspondence for as long as needed to answer you and to meet any legal record-keeping duty, and then we delete it.
12. Security
On-device progress is kept in the app’s private storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Because we do not hold child accounts or a cloud copy of play progress, there is no Maths Garden profile on our servers to access.
13. Your choices
- Change the language, mute sound, or turn on a slower voice inside the app
- Clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app, to delete local progress
- Restrict internet access for the app in the device settings
- Email info@venusapps.com with a privacy request
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects children, we will also update the policy linked from the app’s store listing. Please review this page from time to time. Continued use of the app after the updated date means you accept the revised policy.
